A Life in the Making

No Permission Required

This work comes from real life.

From the life God has given me, from family, love, losses, grief, second chances, and the memories that stay with you. It comes from years spent working, building, learning things the hard way, getting it wrong, starting over, and refusing to stay down.

Some of it comes from the jobsite, where the materials do not lie. Some of it comes from behind the bar, where I learned that people carry burdens you may not see right away. Some of it comes from music, fatherhood, quiet mornings at the desk, long days in the shop, and the moments that make you stop and realize what really matters.

I am not trying to make perfect things. I am trying to make honest things. Things with some weight to them. Things my sons can look back on and know what I believed, what I loved, what I built, and what I hope will last.

"I want my sons to know that a man can build a life with his mind and his hands. He can write the book, build the house, start the business, shape the wood, paint the canvas, play the song, make mistakes, take the hits, learn from them, and keep moving forward. He does not have to wait for the world to open a door. He can build his own door, cut his own path, and make his own way forward. No permission required."

The Remnants Series

Remnants follows Vin, a father who loses the future he was building, then has to fight for the children still standing in front of him. As the world begins to come apart, the trilogy moves from Tampa to the isolation of Old Florida, where survival forces Vin to face the question he cannot outrun: will he keep sacrificing the moment for tomorrow, or learn to live fully for the family he still has? Across What Remained of Us, Hold the Line, and Steadfast, this is a story of regret, legacy, love, faith, and the fragile ember that keeps a person moving when everything goes dark.

Handmade Pieces

There is something that happens when you work with honest materials: wood, metal, stone. They don't pretend. The grain doesn't lie. A joint either holds or it doesn't. I have been building things my whole adult life, and woodworking is where that instinct finds its quietest, most patient expression.

Furniture, small objects, custom commissions. Each piece built to last and to be used.

About Eric

A Life in the Making

Eric Peeler is an artist, writer, and maker whose work is rooted in a lifetime of building.

Over the years, that work has taken many forms: homes, businesses, furniture, paintings, stories, songs, and ideas. The medium has changed. The desire behind it has not.

His creative work is shaped by decades of experience in construction, real estate, hospitality, teaching, faith, family, and the everyday lessons that come from paying attention to people. Whether working with words, wood, paint, or steel, he is drawn to the same challenge: creating something honest, meaningful, and built to endure.

This website is a home for that work. Some of it is finished. Much of it is still taking shape. Together, it tells the story of a life spent making.
