Furniture, objects, and handmade pieces built to last and to be used.
I have been building things my whole adult life: houses, renovations, custom details, additions. Woodworking is the place where all of that experience narrows to its finest point. There is no subcontractor, no crew. Just me, the material, and the joint.
I work primarily in black walnut, white oak, and pine. I prefer hand tools where they make sense. I am interested in wood that has character: grain that moves, figure that catches light, surfaces that ask to be touched.
Every piece is built to be used. Not displayed. Sat at, eaten at, worked at, lived with. I make furniture that gets better with time, not furniture that needs to be protected from it.
Walnut Dining Table
Black Walnut · Hand-rubbed Oil Finish · 84 × 36 in. · 2024
Live-edge slab top on a hand-cut mortise-and-tenon base. Built for a family that wanted a table they could sit at every night for forty years. That was the brief. That was enough.
Oak Shop Shelf
White Oak · Danish Oil · Wall-mounted · 2024
Designed for a client's home studio. Chunky, simple, made to hold things. Sometimes the most useful piece is also the most honest.
Dovetailed Keepsake Box
Black Walnut & Maple · Hand-cut Dovetails · 2023
Hand-cut through dovetails. Figured walnut sides. Maple bottom. Made as a gift. Took longer than expected. Couldn't bring myself to rush it.
Pine Writing Desk
Heart Pine · Natural Wax Finish · 48 × 24 in. · 2023
Built for a writer. Reclaimed heart pine, old growth, tight grain, the kind of material that has already been through something. That felt right.
I take a limited number of custom commissions each year. Tables, shelves, storage pieces, gifts, heirlooms. Each project starts with a conversation about the wood, the use, and what the piece needs to do for the next fifty years.
